When I first heard about "dollhouses for boys", I was not sure that I wanted to pursue the branch any further. But it turned out I was wrong. There are plenty of dollhouses for boys that are truly for boys. I found out that there was a Rocket Ship dollhouse for boys. And a Submarine dollhouse. Moreover, there were quarterly wooden houses - similar to girls' dollhouses, minus the pink walls and white lace. They are easy wood color houses that have open floors, entire walls removed so one can get access to the inside, and they are surely dollhouses for boys. There is even a castle set - looks kind of like a dollhouse, except in the shape of a castle, and instead of Barbie, it has knights, dragons and other rough strangers ready to do battle.
What is great about dollhouses, whether for girls or boys, is that they function as a foundation, a base for all kinds of imaginative play. A well designed dollhouse enhances child's creativity and imagination. It gives a miniature bit of buildings to an otherwise totally free-flowing play that kids are known for. Having said that, don't even think for a occasion that kids will use a dollhouse, any way well chosen for them, in the manner that grownups would expect. I mean they will, but they will also surprise you time and time again by using them in a manner you would never have concept possible. I have seen a easy wooden dollhouse used as a construction site, as a castle to be stormed, as a space ship open facility, and finally, as an object of an aerial bombardment.
